From routine conditions such as flat foot to complex spinal conditions including scoliosis, our hospital dedicated to children is The Portland Hospital which is home to children’s orthopaedics and the spinal and scoliosis centre.

From injuries on the school playing fields and peripheral nerve trauma to congenital and developmental conditions and gait problems, our team of specialist experts are dedicated to getting your child back doing what they love.
While you can have a consultation with a paediatric orthopaedic specialist at one of our many outpatient centres, any surgery will be carried out at our dedicated paediatric facility, The Portland Hospital. The UK’s leading private hospital for children, it offers family-centred care with excellent facilities, including a playroom, sensory room, gym, and individual treatment rooms. You’ll also have access to the latest diagnostic technology, including low-radiation X-ray scanning.
Our highly respected consultants are dedicated to delivering the best care for your child, pioneering treatments for a range of problems, from routine issues such as flat foot, to complex spinal conditions including scoliosis. They work as part of a wider multidisciplinary team, including physiotherapists, orthotists, neurologists, nutritionists, and specialist nurses to ensure your child gets all the support they need, and have a a friendly and welcoming environment.
Fractures are very common in young children, particularly as a result of injuries on school playing fields. If your child has a sports-related injury, we can help.
Curvature of the spine in children occurs between the ages of 10 to 18 and is more common in girls by a ratio of 2:1. While the cause in most cases is unknown, treatments can be very effective.
While scoliosis is a curvature seen from the front. kyphosis refers to curvature of the spine when viewed from the side. It’s possible for both conditions to be present in the same child.
Our paediatric consultants can realign your child's club foot using the Ponseti approach.
Children may experience limb deformity from birth (congenital conditions) or as a result of trauma. We offer lengthening and reconstruction procedures to correct these.
For children who have curves in their spine greater than 45º while still growing, or 50 º when growth has stopped, we can offer surgery to prevent the curve worsening and improve the shape of the spine.
We see patients who are self-funding treatment for their children as well as those with medical insurance policies for their family members. We work with all the major private insurers, for example Bupa, AXA and many more. If you’re paying for your child’s treatment and are considering orthopaedic care, we offer a guide to the payment options available.
